GREEN PARASOL (2017):

Kathy has an edge that gives sparkle and life to her work, especially her people. A wonderfully controlled use of color and design creates a casual and random look, but in fact it’s well structured and oozes with imagination, sensitivity and enjoyment in the creative process.

Kathy Durdin is a national award winning watercolor and mixed media artist. Watercolor provides her with a medium that allows her to create with work quickly and create paintings with freshness and immediacy as she expresses herself. Her style is loose, to take advantage of the characteristics of the medium. Her work needs to be viewed from a distance – small and large areas of color make up her images.

She has exhibited across Florida, as well as nationally, from New York to California. She also teaches classes and workshops, inspiring her students to loosen up their work and enhance their skills.

I have been taking classes from Kathy Durdin, for 5 years, and she is a wonderful teacher. I always learn something new in each class and she is a great inspiration!
Painting in the loose style she teaches is really what watercolor is all about.
Her class is called “loosening up and seeing watercolor everywhere”, and now that is how I look at the world.
No matter what level you are at I say this is a feel good class. She suggests painting things that sing to you, and do not worry it is only paper!! She gives great instructions and makes it seem easy!
I love her class and highly recommend it.

As Program Director of Citrus Watercolor Society, I would like to thank you for the fantastic Demo and Workshop. The interest and turnout for your workshop was so great, I only wish we had the room to add everyone who wanted to attend.
As one of your students, I was thrilled! Your sense and knowledge of color is impressive. Your willingness to share your knowledge and ability to present color in such a new and original way inspired me so much, I was able to come home and paint one of my best portraits yet.
For both the club and I, we hope that you will be able to come back again someday.
